City council approves marketing strategy for Kiel’s Airpark
Seven hectares of industrial estate will be created at the airport
Kiel, 17th November 2017: The city of Kiel approved the marketing strategy for the future Kiel Airpark on 17th November 2017. The council of Schleswig-Holstein’s state capital had instructed the administration in May to prepare a marketing strategy for the future Airpark Kiel-Holtenau. This strategy was worked out and presented together with the business development agency, the chamber of commerce, the business association of the airport company and with Kiel-Marketing.
The target is to develop a vital industrial park near the runway for aviation-related businesses as well as for other companies. The finalized framework makes available an extension area of about 70,000 m². The land-use plan is currently under development. The advantageous infrastructure, direct location at the airport as well as the close connection to the port shape the profile of this industrial park. The Airpark offers quality commercial area and offers an alternative to the city area where space is scarce.
