Candidate for Chancellor, Martin Schulz, visits traditional business in Eckernförde
(Kiel, 25th April 2017) Celebrity guest at Kiel Airport: Candidate for Chancellor, Martin Schulz, makes use of Holtenau for a visit to the north. Martin Schulz visited the fish smokehouse “Meergold” in Eckernförde, which has been family-owned for 100 years, to learn more about the manual production. Finest salmon from Norway, sprats fished in front of the British Isles, fish from the Baltic Sea, soused herring made in Eckernförde. “I knew that Kiel’s sprats come from Eckernförde”, said Martin Schulz. In Eckernförde, he had got an idea about the craft uniting tradition, open-mindedness and international trade in a very exemplary manner. In the afternoon, Martin Schulz flew from Kiel-Holtenau back to Berlin-Schönefeld with a Beechcraft King Air 200 (ID: D-ISKY) by Air Hamburg.
