In perfect weather for a day out, Kiel Airport welcomed more than 5,000 visitors to the airport grounds on its Open Hangar Day.

On Sunday 6 September, guests were treated to a varied programme centred on aviation. Highlights of the programme included a tour of the Sea-Lion naval helicopter, sightseeing flights over Kiel, a display of historic aircraft, and the target-simulation aircraft exhibited by QinetiQ. The skydivers also provided some special moments. In addition to aviation, there were other activities on the day’s programme. The players of the Holstein Kiel football club, Lasse Rosenboom and Frederik Roslyng, signed autographs, and younger guests in particular enjoyed glitter tattoos and games at the PORT OF KIEL stand.

The Open Hangar Day thus offered a varied programme for the whole family and the opportunity to get to know our airport from a completely different perspective.
